Creative Lighting Competition

Examples of Creative lighting

Brief
The design must be suitable for the domestic environment and be capable of being sold in retail outlets.Whilst designs which use light for a decorative element only are not excluded we will be looking for designs which combine a functional light with a visual presence.Credit will be given for the efficient use of a light source.

In addition to presenting the design, students are expected to demonstrate that they have researched the market, how this research relates to the chosen design, identify
materials used and why they were chosen.

concerning the cost and potential sale price of the design so an understanding of material prices, tooling, assembly, packaging, manufacturers and retail margins are also important.

The most creative designs will be narrowed to ten then will be judged by the ex Director of the Lighting Association.

The winner will be able to manufacture their product/design plus win the prizes of Graphic equipment.

The deadline for the designs are 10th february 2009.

All designs should be handed to Miss Thompson in ET1.

GOOD LUCK!

End of Year Exams

As you are all aware it is End of Year Exam time and hopefully you are all revising for the tests that you will sit. Please remember to read all the questions carefully and make sure that you look at the marks that are awarded as this is a true indication of what sort of response is needed.

Good Luck to everyone and remember these marks will be used to predict GCSE outcomes so try your best!!!!
